Captain Cooks Monument

Wednesday, July 12th, 2006

We rented a kayak this afternoon and paddled across the bay to Captain Cooks Monument. We walked around, saw the monument and then went out snorkeling. The water was beautiful and the fish were amazing. Kayaking is great for seeing how we work together paddling, and getting in and out of the water. The whole afternoon went smoothly.

Check out the sunset

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006

Today, we headed out early to complete two of our final four dives. It was lots of fun and there were a lot of fish. After diving we headed back to the condo for lunch and relaxation and then out to the movies to see The Pirates of the Carribean. The day was great fun and very relaxing. We even made it back for dinner and the sunset.

Check out that car!

Monday, July 10th, 2006

We made it! We are in Kona enjoying ourselves. Thanks to the free wireless at the condo, we are able to post. Today, we went to the grocery to get food for the week, relaxed, took a nap, and went snorkeling. We tried to catch a movie but it was sold out. Instead, we came back to the condo had dinner, and relaxed out on the lanai enjoying the sounds of the ocean. Thanks to everyone who made it to the wedding. We could not have asked for a more perfect day! Check out the car, it was a your on your honeymoon upgrade.

Elitch Gardens in Denver

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

We made it to Denver, Colorado last night and spent the day at Elitch Gardens today. It was surprising how close to downtown Denver the amusement park was. There we were on a roller coaster and the view was of skyskrapers. Denver is beautiful. There are the mountains in the distance and the river that goes through town. The REI store is huge. We took a quick side trip to see it. We had a great dinner at Chris and Pia’s house. It was wonderful; good food and great company. We head to Elko, Nevada tomorrow and then home on Saturday.

Iowa

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

We left Baltimore on Sunday at 7 PM headed to Six Flags New England in Massachusetts where we rode the Superman Ride of Steel on Monday. Later that day we drove to Ohio. Yesterday we were at Cedar Point and our favorite ride, the Millenium Force, was closed. We got to ride the Top Thrill Dragster and Magnum XL200. This morning we are in Iowa and hope to make it to Denver, Colorado by the end of the day. Each state has had interesting state laws on the highways (such as going to jail for 14 years if you hit a road worker, or the fine for littering being $10,000) and it is nice to finally be done with the toll roads (it has been over $50 in tolls just to get this far).

New York City

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

We took a trip to New York city, it was my first time. On the way up we stopped at Six Flags Great Adventure, we went there to ride the Kingda Ka, but it was closed. Our favorite ride was Nitro. After Six Flags we stayed in Elizabeth New Jersey where we took the NJ Transit train into New York the next morning. We arrived in New York’s Penn Station. Our first stop was the Empire State Building, we went all the way to the 102nd floor. King Kong was there! We did the audio tour and had a lot of fun at the Empire State Building. After we left we walked to Times Square, it was really cool to see in person since I’ve seen it on TV and in the movies so much. We went Tiffany & Co. and purchased our wedding rings. We ate dinner at The View in the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, it’s a revolving rooftop resturant. We took the subway to the former site of the World Trade Center Towers, it’s a big hole in the ground. Everying is pretty much cleaned up now and it looks more like new construction. We left New York and stayed somewhere in New Jersey, the next day we stopped in Atlantic City where we walked on the beach.

I’m flying out to Balitmore on Friday May 19th, I arrive early on Saturday into Washinton Dulles airport. I think we might try and go to Six Flags Great Adventure on Monday. Julie is graduating from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing on Thursday. After that we will be driving accross the country from Baltimore, Maryland to Walnut Creek, California. On the way back we plan on stopping at Six Flags New England, Cedar Point and Elitch Gardens.
