We had an awesome Easter! It was a gorgeous day. We colored eggs and went to the Morcom Rose Garden in Oakland for an egg hunt! We made deviled eggs, salad, green beans and cooked a leg of lamb. Then Christopher & Deborah came over with two more legs of lamb, scalloped potatoes and green beans. We had the most wonderful feast! Christopher also made the most wonderful desert, a chocolate log, it was so good.
Tonight we went to Eileen’s St. Patty’s Day party with Julies friends from work. We had corned beef and cabbage with green mashed potatoes and tons of other great stuff to eat. Went through a couple cases of Heineken and had a lot of fun. Thanks to Eileen for a fun party, and thanks to everyone who came and made it such a great time! You guys are awesome!
We went over to Tim and Astridas along with Christopher and Deborah. We prepared, and then ate a bunch of delicious African food. We had three dishes, lamb, vegetables in a peanut sauce and collard greens. We also drank several bottles of Tej, some beer and finished it off with a banana dish that had extra rum in it. It was a lot of fun and I’m stuffed! Thanks to everyone who was there for an awesome day!
Today was a gorgeous day, we drove out to Pescadero State Beach with Tim. On the way there we stopped at Alameda Army Navy Surplus to buy a entrenching tool so that we could dig a big hole on the beach. I t was the best beach toy I’ve every bought. I had a blast digging a big hole and everyone had fun playing in it.
We went to Duarte’s Tavern and Restaurant for lunch, they have excellent food here. Julie normally gets the half and half, cream of artichoke and cream of green chile soup, but she was worried about the green chile being too spicy so she got the “famous” cream of artichoke soup all by itself. She said the half and half is better, but she’s still glad she didn’t get the green chile. I got a French dip, it was great.

It’s Julies birthday! Happy birthday Julie! I had a special birthday trip planned for Julie but it was super secret! I didn’t tell her where we were going, only that I had plans and that she needed to pack some clothes. This afternoon when we were leaving on our “trip”, which Julie thought was a road trip, I headed to the Bart station and we took Bart into the city. Surprise! We’re at the Fairmont in San Francisco! We’ll be in San Francisco until Saturday.
