Alex loves his red wagon, it’s his Christmas present but we already gave it to him, I don’t think he’ll know the difference. Today he was walking across the room with it, then we got out the camera and he’d only take a few steps. Well here’s the video.
Alex has learned to stand up with assistance from any item he can find: the couch, chair, shelves, a box. He started standing up on Wednesday for the first time which is when we realized that we really needed to finish getting the gate up in his room. The box that was keeping him from crawling out was now an object to push out of the way while standing up. He is still wobbly. He fell last night getting his first little red spot on his forehead. I am trying not to panic. I think he needs a helmet.
At just shy of seven months old, Alex did his first crawling today. He has been trying for a while now but usually ended up scooting backwards. Today, he finally found success moving forward. Here is a video of his first crawling. Shortly after he figured out crawling he made a beeline for the cat food, tipping over the dish. We are working on a new cat food location.
Yesterday we went to Halloween party for babies which was just down the street from our house. We walked because it was so close, but it was pouring rain, luckily we have big umbrellas. Alex, who was in his bear costume, fell asleep on the way there. It with a group of moms that Julie goes out to lunch with on Wednesdays. It was a lot of fun, and it was great for me to meet everyone.
We went camping with a bunch of family at Thousand Trails Ponderosa on the South Fork of the American River. It was a lot of fun. Alex got to put his feet in the freezing cold waters of the American River.
A friend of my Dad’s is a Perennial Vacation Club member, and they had a week in a condo at Tahoe Village, Nevada and they didn’t want to lose it, so they gave it to my Dad. We went up to South Lake Tahoe on Saturday to stay with them for the weekend. We went to the Round Hill Pines Beach when we arrived, Alex put his feet in the waters of Lake Tahoe and Julie went for a swim. Getting to the condo takes your breath away, literally by the time you’ve climbed 53 steps from the parking lot to the 1st floor while carrying all of your luggage you almost have to stop and take a break. On Sunday we went to Glen Alpine Falls near Fallen Leaf Lake, it was gorgeous. Unfortunately I have to work, so we had to come home. My Dad is up there for the rest of the week, more of the family plans on coming to visit during the week.
