Russel and Julie

Last night we flew into Portland, Oregon, and stayed the night with Julie’s family. This morning we drove 3 and a half hours, plus a half hour stop for feeding Alex, to Selah, Washington, where my aunt and uncle live. Their daughter, Brittney, was graduating from high school. So many people from my family decided to attend the graduation that it became a family reunion. My aunt and uncle from Maine came out, my sister and her family drove from Wyoming. There we’re so many people that came from all over the country it was awesome! We had such a good time.

Happy Birthday! Our baby was born on Monday April 14th at 3:54 PM. It weighed in at 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 20 inches in length. His name is Alexander.

Julie is doing great. She and Alexander have to stay in the hospital until tomorrow afternoon. Visitors are welcome to come and see Julie, visiting hours are 11 AM – 9 PM.

We had an awesome Easter! It was a gorgeous day. We colored eggs and went to the Morcom Rose Garden in Oakland for an egg hunt! We made deviled eggs, salad, green beans and cooked a leg of lamb. Then Christopher & Deborah came over with two more legs of lamb, scalloped potatoes and green beans. We had the most wonderful feast! Christopher also made the most wonderful desert, a chocolate log, it was so good.

We’re back from the baby shower! We’d like to thank everyone for attending and for getting us the greatest gifts. Special thanks to Stella for getting everything organized and Eileen for letting us use her house. We had so much fun, got all sorts of great gifts and we love them! Thank You!

Our expected date is quickly approaching. We currently have two baby showers scheduled. This first one is this Sunday with Julie’s co-workers. The next one is on March 29th at our condominium complex, hosted by my Aunt Sandra and my dads wife Joanne. If you’d like to attend a baby shower and have not yet been invited please let us know. It’s Julies birthday! Happy birthday Julie! I had a special birthday trip planned for Julie but it was super secret! I didn’t tell her where we were going, only that I had plans and that she needed to pack some clothes. This afternoon when we were leaving on our “trip”, which Julie thought was a road trip, I headed to the Bart station and we took Bart into the city. Surprise! We’re at the Fairmont in San Francisco! We’ll be in San Francisco until Saturday.
