Yesterday we went to Halloween party for babies which was just down the street from our house. We walked because it was so close, but it was pouring rain, luckily we have big umbrellas. Alex, who was in his bear costume, fell asleep on the way there. It with a group of moms that Julie goes out to lunch with on Wednesdays. It was a lot of fun, and it was great for me to meet everyone.
We had an awesome weekend! Our friends Nicole and Justin who have a son, Aidan, that’s about the same age as Alex invited us to stay in their families houseboat on Don Pedro Lake. There were a whole bunch of people there who were all cool and very nice. The houseboat was amazing, we slept inside the first night and moved to the top deck the second night. The stars in the night sky were beautiful. It was so much fun.
We went camping at Morgan Hill Thousand Trails this weekend, it was Alex’s first camping trip! He was fine the first night. The second night he may have been too cold, he woke up in the middle of the night and it took us two hours to get him back to sleep. On Saturday we went to the beach, it was a lot of fun, I got to fly my new kite, and we ate at Duarte’s Tavern and Restaurant in Pescadero.
We had an awesome Easter! It was a gorgeous day. We colored eggs and went to the Morcom Rose Garden in Oakland for an egg hunt! We made deviled eggs, salad, green beans and cooked a leg of lamb. Then Christopher & Deborah came over with two more legs of lamb, scalloped potatoes and green beans. We had the most wonderful feast! Christopher also made the most wonderful desert, a chocolate log, it was so good.
Wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year! May your holiday season be filled with joy!
Today we went and bought our Christmas tree. We went to the same place as last year, in the Heather Farm parking lot, Toby’s Trees. We looked at their “below average” sized trees and weren’t too happy with the selection, or the prices ranging from 40 to 50 dollars. A friendly employee asked us if we needed any help and they directed us to the back of the lot where the trees that had not yet been unbundled were. We found a tree that was a good height (not too tall) and someone unbundled it for us, it looked great! There wasn’t a price on the tree since it hadn’t been unbundled yet, so they had to call for a price check, we got the tree for only $19.99! Woohoo! When we brought the tree home I set it up and put the lights on it (with some help from my Dad), I also setup all of the lights on our balcony. Now we just need to decorate the tree, we’ve only placed about 5 ornaments so far.
